The behavior of the Poogie in Monster Hunter World is similar to previous titles of the series. However, you don't have it as a pet in your house, but instead Poogie is now roaming around in Astera. In order to get new outfits, you have to get his affection first. After returning from a quest you get the chance to pet it. Go up to Poogie and press X/A. As soon as a red exclamation mark is above its head you must press O/B. If your timing is sufficient, you will get some hearts and Poogies affection for you increases.

You can pet Poogie only once after each quest to increase his affection to you. After the first successful interaction you can rename Poogie, pick it up or change its outfit.

Maxing out the affection of Poogie to you will unlock another feature that can be used once after returning from a quest. Pet Poogie and pick it up. Now walk around Astera and wait for you controller to rumble. This is an indicator for a close hidden item. Put Poogie on the ground and it will run to the spot of the hidden item and dig it up. Apart from items you can find some outfits for Poogie with this approach.

Available outfits:

• Hog in a Frog: Near the Scout Fly lamp next to the botanist.
• Apprentice: Fiver: In front of the white banner next to the Commander's table.
• Emperor's New Duds: Go through the workshop, up the stairs and out on the platform.
• White Jammies: In front of the stone slab near the biologist.
